On Wednesday I went to a hear a short talk by Chris Harman,author of the book The Fire Last Time, which deals with the events of 1968. He spoke for an hour about the struggles and movements that seemed to coalesce in that year and stressed the international dimension of the events that took place in that year, along with the impact of those events in the decades that followed. I didn't manage to buy a copy of the book on the night but I will obtain one shortly and provide a sort review here in due course. The book is available from Bookmarks for the exceptionally reasonable price of £5 so it might be worth taking a chance on buying it before i give my humble opinion on it.
